What is a Privacy Seal?

 
A privacy seal is a symbol or mark that you place on your website to indicate that you are a participant in a privacy programme. They are issued after your website has been audited.
 

Who are the main seal providers?

Within the U.S the main seal provider is Truste. Internationally Truste is a major player, but also competes with international organizations such as the Electronic Fronter and eTrust.
 
How much do they cost?
 
Truste: $900 per year (cost vary depending on size of organization- $900 - $14,000 per year).
eTrust: $250 per year
Trust Guard: $450 per year
